To all Marylanders, which MD is better?
Strictly ignoring partisan breakdown, which map better preserves COIs?
I need a deconstruction on Vaush's rent control take
In my mind I do believe rent control is important for keeping an integral social fabric in the short run, but I'm still struggling to understand whether rent control is beneficial as a policy tool when applied over long runs, and I'm also confused with how landlords can just "sell" their properties and how that would fix the financial situation of owning that property for future landlords (I'm not sure if I'm representing his argument well here but its just a thought)
Along with that, I've learned basic introductory macroeconomics and I'm wondering why should we disregard the market when dealing with this situation. I do get that most assumptions in economics require a competitive market, but I guess I need a more depth explanation.
Completely irrelevant to this take, I remember a stream not too long ago where Vaush was explaining the fundamentals of employment and civic participation and I want a deconstruction on how employment is a social need. In my head I understand this but I kinda want a proof that results in that conclusion
