Videos from Stockholm (my first Tori Amos concert ever)

Videos from Stockholm (my first Tori Amos concert ever)

Finally, I've heard Tori Amos live. Flying from Moldova all the way to Stockholm was 100% worth it!

The support act, Isaac Levi, was accepted by the audience quite well, and he was also very kind and talkative himself. I could see he does admire Tori's music, so regardless of what you think of support acts in general, it's good to have such link between different generations of performers.

Then for Tori and the band. The impressions that I had must have been written/told thousand times, so I'll be brief. It was awesome to see and hear Tori live, as well as her band, especially the newly joined "angels". From the 6th row sound was pretty decent, so if Mac Alladin is still involved in live sound engineering, we should give props to him as well.

Playing on multiple keyboards (the big beautiful Bosse), smiles and glances directed to the musicians and the audience and reimagined arrangements - 1000000 times better than on YouTube. While, IMHO, there is nothing wrong with Tori's voice, given her age and stuff, the backing vocalists are very good addition. And again, it's just another link to connect the generations and, in such case, the female creative power and spark.

The intros and arrangements for some of the songs are indeed quite long sometimes (like "Bells for her" or "Crucify"), but overall, it's not an issue for me.

For the "historical" purposes I've recorded some of the songs (in random way), so I hope it will serve in the same way for the rest of was (for some reason "Bells for her" are missing sound, though :()

I hope my impressions weren't too repetitive. I just wanted to share how big the power of live performances is.

Another round of getting used to this awesome camera. The locations on the photo are from my hometown, so they are more than familiar to me. It inspired me to capture those brutalist-esque buildings (not strictly that type, though) along with nature, which changes by the time of the day, light etc. and represents something more soft.

ISO 100, "Shade" white balance and "Chrome" FujiColor scheme.

So I’ve joined the club of happy owners of this awesome camera : ) Couldn’t wait to give it a test, especially the famous “Chrome” mode, and receive an XD card reader.

I saw lots of comments and reviews mentioning the tendency to overexpose the photos. Must admit, when looking at the display, it really does seem to be the case, so I was adjusting the exposure compensation quite often. But when I looked at the photos on my MacBook, I’ve found out it wasn’t such important thing to adjust. I hope I’ll find the perfect balance in the future.

What I was pleased by was the contrast of the photos - again, it looked a bit different on my MacBook than through camera display, but in a good way - the contrast, given the settings I mentioned in the title, seems to be acceptable and not too strong.

I’m also happy that this camera has built-in options for cropping and rotating the photos, which can help you to achieve the perfect SOOC result… : ) And yeah, I was surprised in a good way by “Voice memory” option - it can be very helpful, if you’re planning to create a travel book or blog post based on the photos you took.
