Elevator out of service for 5 weeks need advice
My elderly parents live in an apartment building with 6 floors, about 5 weeks ago the elevator went out of service and they were told it would be back quickly. A few weeks later they were told the elevator was working but that they were waiting for a city inspector to approve it before it could go back in service. Now the super is still saying the inspector has not come, and he also mentioned something about a fine that had to be paid by the management before the inspector would come. They have been told several times that the inspector is coming on a certain day and then being told that he didnt show up. It is extremely difficult for my parents and other people in the building to walk up and down the stairs multiple times each day nonetheless carry groceries and laundry. We along with other tenants have made countless calls to 311 with no results or clear answers they just say they are going to investigate. Would greatly appreciate any advice on how to resolve this matter it has been over 5 weeks. The management company is terrible never pick up the phone or help with issues.
