Confused Between Buying a Petrol Bike, Waiting for E85, or Switching to an EV — Need Advice
I’m currently stuck deciding which bike to buy. I was initially planning to get an ICE bike, but with the recent push from the government towards ethanol blending (E85) and news around Royal Enfield testing E85-compatible variants, I’m unsure if buying a conventional petrol bike right now makes sense long term.
On top of that, given the recent announcements by our PM, my mom is suggesting that I go for an Ather EV instead.
Now I’m confused between:
- buying a regular petrol bike now,
- waiting for future E85-compatible bikes,
- or directly switching to an EV.
Would love to hear opinions from people who’ve been thinking about the same thing, especially around long-term practicality, fuel availability, and whether E85 is actually something worth waiting for.
Edit : Waiting for E85 sounds a bit dumb to me as it would require robust changes in the supply chain, fuel infrastructure
