Watch in Auto or Straight mode?

I recently purchased a Yamaha RX-V6A receiver and two small speakers to use as front heights. I read that i should listen in straight mode, as that bypasses all DSP and plays it how it was intended. But whats best for atmos? Will Auto mix more sound into the atmos channels?

I currently have a Yamaha RX-V385, but im looking to plan for a better receiver for their 4 ohm load (3.2 ohm mininum). I like the sound from these speakers, although theyre pretty inefficient. I will have 3 Kef Q1 Meta for fronts and Q150s as surrounds. Area is 10 x 10 feet and im 7.5 feet from the mains. Half music, half movies.

I put my right speaker 12.5" from the side wall and 22.75" from the rear wall to get the the same distance apart as they are from me. Area is 10x10 feet. Toed in maybe 10 degrees. They are Kef Q1 Meta with a basic Yamaha RXV385 receiver. Im not real experienced in how things should sound so i dont know what to listen for when it comes to reflections. Its sounding good, but what do you think?

EDIT - I ran calibration and it set mains to the same level. Basically, what should i look for soundwise to know im too close?

Also thank you for the input! Im big into proper placement and theory so any advice or experience is appreciated. You dont know until you hear it!
