ECFMG certification

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to apply for ECFMG Certification through Pathway 6, which requires completing the Mini-CEX with physician evaluators. I’m a bit confused about how to find the required physicians. Since each physician can evaluate a maximum of two encounters, I understand that I’ll need at least three physicians.
If anyone has been through this process or has any advice or recommendations on how to find eligible physicians, I’d really appreciate your help. I’m located in Los Angeles, California.
Thank you!

Recent Step 3 Takers: Any Advice?

Hi everyone,

I passed USMLE Step 2 CK about a year ago and am now planning to take Step 3.
My current study plan includes UWorld, CCS Cases, and Anki. For those who have recently taken Step 3, do you recommend any specific Anki deck or other high-yield resources? Any study tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Need help: Certificate of Good Standing for ECFMG Pathway 1

Hi everyone,

I graduated from a state medical university outside the United States and later moved to the U.S. At graduation, I received my diploma, transcript, and an attestation certificate. The attestation was issued under the Ministry of Public Health and includes my university’s information.

My university was under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Health, and before graduation we had a state exam conducted by representatives from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Public Health, and the university.

Now I am applying through ECFMG Pathway 1 and need a Certificate of Good Standing. The problem is that I no longer live in that country and cannot travel there. I have tried contacting the relevant authorities by email to request a Good Standing certificate, but I have not received any response.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Would the attestation certificate I received at graduation help in any way, I am able to request from the university I graduated the updated certificate.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Below is the text of the attestation I was given by my university at graduation.

Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of X,
X State Medical University

Date: XX/2022

Attestation

This is to clarify that the primary medical degree awarded by university name is recognized by Medical Council and the Government of Republic of X.

USCE for US IMG

Hi everyone,
I’m a US IMG currently living in Los Angeles. I have passed Step 1 and Step 2 CK, and I’m looking for an Internal Medicine rotation/observership/hands-on opportunity in the LA area.

If anyone knows IMG-friendly clinics, hospitals, or physicians accepting students/graduates, I would really appreciate your recommendations.

Thank you!

Hi everyone, I’m struggling with OET Reading Part A. I usually get around 12–14 correct and often can’t finish all 20 questions within 15 minutes. When I try to go faster, my accuracy drops.

I’ve been using the E2 Language strategy (skimming and scanning with keywords), but I’m not improving and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Has anyone had this issue and managed to improve? What specific changes helped you increase both speed and accuracy?
