getting first pap smear after getting IUD- pain difference?
hi everyone! i thought i would consult the sub on this. two months ago i got a kyleena iud, and im getting my first pap on friday, since i just turned 21. for my experience, the iud insertion was incredibly painful, and i cried after they put it in (although the crying was a result of a mix between pain and the anxiety that had been building leading up to it). im pretty nervous about getting the pap smear because of the insertion and post-insertion pain i had experienced getting the iud, and id like to hear some perspectives of others who have had both before :) i understand that the pap is something im just gonna have to deal with for the rest of my life, but im really squeamish so i have a hard time with medical appointments and i have a lot of anxiety about the possibility of pain for this.
