Hello all, first of all - thanks for all the inspiration here!
I have a question related running part of my training. I have been in Running and lifting for 6 months, and followed program with 3x lifting (531) and 4x running. All my running were in zone 2 with weekly progressions, as the goal was to build the base. Now, I want to continue with the same lifting plan as this is where I feel the best and see the best results mentally and physically, but for running I want to do 2 things:
Reduce running to 3x per week (because it's becoming too hard on my body as my squats and other lifts go up)
Add some speed (tempo, intervals) with the goal to improve VO2.
I am considering 3 runs: i) Easy zone2, ii) Tempo or Intervals (eg 4x4 Norwegian), iii) Long run zone 2. I am thinking to recycle this program from Hal Higdon to follow the same progression on tempo/intervals and long run: https://www.halhigdon.com/training-programs/8k-training/intermediate-8k/ - but, I would remove 2 runs since he has 5 runs here. What results can I expect from this routine?
