I've been re-watching all the episodes and something suddenly occurred to me … where are all the spouses?

We’ve never actually seen the sheriff’s wife. Tom is a widower — unless Lauren is somehow still alive and being kept elsewhere. Patricia, Dale, Ruth, Rosemary, Wyck etc. — none of them seem to have a spouse who is physically present in the series.

Even going back to the pilot, Shep talked about how his wife had been acting strangely, yet we never saw her either. The first Mayor was a widower as well. The whole bachlorette theme in epsiode 3 as well.

It feels too weird to be a coincidence. Thoughts?
