7.5 pound Zastava m83 trigger
I’ve gotten my M83 down to a 7.5 pound DA and 3 pound SA, this is probably about as good as I will ever get it. Hammer velocity has been further increased and it is a pleasure to shoot.

6 rounds of Magtech 158gr LRN .38 followed by 6 rounds of Blazer 158gr JHP .357. buttery smooth and it even sets off hard primers in DA now! I have a pull gauge coming in tomorrow and I will put the results in the comments.
This is very rudimentary, but the engagement surfaces lined in red are the most important parts to polish, ESPECIALLY the center line at the very top of the trigger. I hit mine with some thousand grit and some car polishing compound. I sanded until there was a uniform shine across the entire lined section. This sanding/polishing combined with a 17 pound 1911 hammer spring in place of the original mainspring, as well as keeping the gun well lubed and clean will completely transform your m83 into an incredibly pleasant pistol. I would love some rubber grips for my m83 but I’ve only found them on the Bosnian eBay equivalent, does anyone know any way to get them in the states or have a pair they would be willing to sell? I love my g10 grips but they like ripping a hole in my thumb after a box or two of stout .357
Popped it open and patched up all the spots I had missed on my last trigger job as well as polishing where the frame was rubbing against the hammer. Zero hangups in DA and a nice crisp single action.
I have put enough work into this yugo hunk of junk to make it into practically an entirely different handgun. I got it down to a ten pound DA and 3 pound SA. goes bang every single time and Ive shot it freehand out to 100 yards with surprising accuracy. PPU .38 special SWC, 142 grain iirc, all hit lungs and heart at ten yards. excellent little project revolver if you have 300 bucks and some sanity to burn.
I’ve owned my m83 since October and heavily modified it to actually be a pleasant firearm, but one last thing I’d like to do is get some rubber grips on this thing. does anyone have any experience with mauling a hogue overmold to fit an m83? Im at 1500 rounds through the thing and the only things I’d like to change at this point are rubber grips, and a lighter trigger reset spring. any help would be appreciated.
