What does the bible say about heaven? And what is it like?
Hello everybody, I’ve been thinking a lot about heaven and afterlife lately. I grew up catholic, and attended church with my father some too.
In high school I stopped attending church, and really stopped believing in god, an afterlife or really any spiritual belief.
Since then my father passed, as well as a few other close family and friends. Death seems to surround me sometimes, both on a personal level and at work. (I’m a Paramedic)
I recently had a dream where I sat by a camp fire, surrounded by all the people I’ve lost in my life. Including my father, who sat beside me and comforted me. At first I was taken a back and frightened by how vivid the dream was. But the people comforted me and we sat and enjoyed the fire together.
This has me wondering a lot about the after life, and I want to believe now that after we die there is something more.
What does the bible say about death, heaven, my love ones? And where can I read more?
I also lost a close friend to suicide on Easter this year, does the bible reference suicide and what might of happened to him?
