Crew Scheduler

Hello All- I am starting next week as a crew scheduler at a regional. Have seen the posts about "Screw Schedulers" and want to avoid being that person. Can you give me an idea what does a good crew scheduler look like / do from your perspective? What are the things crew schedulers do (or don’t do) that make your lives noticeably easier or harder. Are there any specific communication styles, or ways of handling trips/reschedules that you appreciate?

I’m not looking for a roast — just honest feedback so I can be more helpful and less of a headache. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share.

Finding Crashpads

Hello All- I am starting with an airline at the end of the month, it is in a location that I will be commuting from, so I just need a "cold bed" to stay in while I am there for the 4 days I am on each week. I have been going through the online sites without much luck. Do the airlines have internal networks or emails that list rooms for rent? I am hoping once I get up there I might be able to find someone at the airline that is looking for a roommate or looking to rent a room. Thanks.

EAA AirVenture

Planning on heading up to this in Oshkosh later this month to visit some airline booths to help the job search. First time going. Is there any advice from people who have attended this before? Things to do - Not to do? Thanks.

Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate

Been struggling to find a dispatch job for the last two months, So I have been thinking about taking the Part 107 test that way I would be certified to work with aerial, unmanned drones. Apparently the test is very similar to the ADX test with alot of overlap so I feel like I can pass the test. But would it be worth it? Will it open more jobs for me? Or am I panicing too soon on the dispatch job hunt? Thank you for any help/advice

Sky West Dispatch Knowledge Assessment

Just got an email with classmarker info to take a dispatch knowledge assessment. Have not taken it yet. Is it going to be all technical things like the written test, more scenarios or personality and team oriented questions? Thanks.
