Does it eventually get better?
Just looking to vent. I'm hoping someone could possibly relate to this and tells me it gets better one day LOL. My husband and I have been together for about 6 years. He has 2 children from a previous marriage (they are 11 and 9) and so do I. We now have a baby together. His ex wife is extremely high conflict. She was always pretty controlling once they separated but once I came along something in her brain completely unraveled. As soon as we started dating she would tell the kids their dad isn't coming to pick them up on days that weren't even his and that he doesn't love them anymore, tell them he started a new family with me once we moved in together after almost a year of being together, so on and so forth. It stopped for a while once she started dating but started again once I got pregnant. Once she found out I was pregnant she would tell the kids it's horrible that they're going to have a half sibling and it's not right. Once our baby arrived the kids were told to stay away from us and the baby because we're bad people and if she found out they were "spending time" with us they would get in trouble when they got home. The lies and manipulation were just insane I could write a book.
All this time they were in and out of therapy and we did what we could to reverse the manipulation but their mom removed them from therapy. My husband has spent 10s of thousands of dollars in legal fees fighting for his children. He has tried court, co-parenting counseling and it just goes nowhere because she denies everything. She has a huge problem with me so I have even offered to do family therapy with all of us, her partner included so we can just move on and focus on the children's happiness but she has refused.
At the time my baby was three months old one of his children hit my baby on the head, on purpose while they were sleeping in their bassinet. His child came up with a million different reasons as to why they hit my baby but overall said they want the baby gone and they'll do it again or something worse. His other child eventually admitted to feeling the same way about the baby and both of them said they would rather not come to our house anymore and we haven't seen them since. We told them they are always welcome here but not if they're going to harm a baby. We really wouldn't put it past their mom to tell them to harm the baby.
Does it eventually get better? There's so much more that I could add but like I said I could seriously write a whole book about it.
