Questions for Meal Plan

Hello I am going to be coming to Mac res this September and I was looking at the residence application stuff and I don’t think I fully understand the Mac meal plan so I have a few questions. I’m hoping someone is able to explain these things for me and please add on any information that it might be helpful for me to know

• How does the card system work? ( Im aware that you add an amount and Mac will add the same and then somehow there’s a 50% discount but I don’t think I understand)

• What happens if you do not get through the amount you put on your meal plan card?

• What’s the difference between meal plan A, B, C and D

• Maybe related to the last one, but can you buy anything from the meal plan card? ( I heard someone say that they don’t eat out a lot so they didn’t get though the card)

If you think I am misunderstanding something please help me understand it would be greatly appreciated.

Questions about iBioMed and the Levels (I / II/ III/ ..)

For context I'm accepting my iBioMed offer and going into it this september so I've been looking into what the program is like and what it is like to progress in the program.I want to go into the B.Eng.BME specialization, and after looking throughout the website I am constantly seeing things like:
"The specialized programs are entered at Level II." ,
and
"A student in IBEHS I with a Grade Point Average (GPA) less than 4.0 can no longer continue in the Integrated Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences (IBEHS) program."

The main questions are these, but please try to elaborate further or mention something that I might also be confused about whenever possible.

  • So is level II just the part where you specialize into HESE or BME?
  • What happens to a first year who doesn't have a 4.0 GPA (can they not got into HESE or BME)?
  • Are these level just the year of study? (i.e. level I = year 1, level II = year 2...)
  • "All engineering programs have limited enrolment; should there be more applicants than the limiting number in any program, admission to that program will be based on GPA." This is for the B.Eng.BME specialization, how can they decide admission based on GPA if you need a 4.0 to specialize in the first place.

This is the main resource I've been looking into: https://academiccalendars.romcmaster.ca/preview_entity.php?catoid=58&ent_oid=7829#Academic_Regulations
