I’m cooked

I recently started playing Rust after seeing some streamers play it. I’m playing solo and started on a PvE server to get the feel for the game but felt like it was missing a degree of tension.

I switched over to a small population official server and set up my base. I just started working down the tech tree towards pistols when I was raided by a trio across the river. They decimated me and stole my base, slapping their own code lock on it after breaking in. I don’t know what I expected. Maybe more banter? They were silent while stealing everything I’d spent hours working to gather.

I logged off for the night and wasn’t sure if I’d keep playing on that server.

This morning I woke up and immediately wanted to hop on to rebuild and raid them back.

How do I curb this before it becomes an addiction?
