some context. my brother (34m) has been collecting pet rocks since 1987. he has over 400 of them. each one has a name, a birthday, and a filed birth certificate. he has a spreadsheet. he takes this extremely seriously.

i (29f) needed money for my wedding. i looked at his collection and did some research and found out some of them are apparently worth real money to collectors online. i sold 47 of the most valuable ones for a total of about 3,400 dollars and replaced them with rocks i found outside that looked similar

the wedding was beautiful

six months later my brother is doing his annual census of the rocks. yes he does a census. yes they all have names. he noticed immediately that gerald was different. gerald is apparently irreplaceable because he was found on a specific beach in 1994 and has a vein of quartz running through him that my brother says is completely unique

he has now filed a police report

my mom says i should apologize. my husband says they're rocks. my brother says gerald was going to be left to his future children in his will

so me and a small team basically gave an AI access to our computer and it just makes everything

like we are genuinely doing nothing. the AI generates all the code, all the logic, the whole thing. we just tell it what we want in plain english and it figures out the rest completely by itself. we dont write a single line of anything. we just kind of sit there and watch it build

its actually kind of insane to see it work in real time. you type something like "make the floor collapse when the player walks into the room" and it just does it. not perfectly every time but it gets there and we dont have to touch it

the mod itself is called Irogo and the concept is basically glados never actually died. she imported her entire consciousness into a newer smarter AI called Irogo who now runs all of aperture science while every single person there thinks hes some kind of miracle. you play as gordon freeman and you slowly start figuring out that something is very wrong. it starts in an empty office and gets worse from there

but honestly the AI thing is the main reason were posting this because we genuinely think this might be the first source mod being built this way. an AI with full computer access just generating an entire mod from nothing while we tell it what direction to go

its a weird project but its ours and well keep posting updates as it develops
