My (33M) girlfriend (32F) has been talking about the future a lot. We've been dating for under a year. She's talking engagement. Whats the best way to navigate these conversations without hurting her?
As the title says, we've been dating for about 7-8 months. She is talks about the future pretty often. She also stated that she does want to get married. And that she needs an engagement ring before she even moves in with me. (I never brought up moving in. She did) To be honest, I dont really care about marriage, or having kids. It's just not on my mind currently. I worry that we're currently on different pages, and operating at different paces. I also don't want to hold her back from finding that if thats what she's seeking so soon.
EDIT: I should have included in the original post that when we first got together, I had made it clear that I don't care about having kids. She told me that she was on the fence herself. Also, I know plenty of couples who have been together for 6+ years and aren't married.
