I'm in the US to see family, and just got diagnosed. The Dr prescribed Novelin 70/30. I am supposed to take 20u before breakfast and dinner. Next week I am flying back to Portugal. We take off around 1730, so I was planning to take my shot before the dinner they serve. But then we land 8h later, with 6h time change.

How do I handle the time change? Do I go ahead and take the shot at my home time to get on that schedule? Or do I skip that one?

I (38M) just found out today that I have type 1. I was perfectly healthy two weeks ago (good semi-annual labs and everything) and about 6 days ago starting having the symptoms of hyperglycemia. Thought it was just really bad allergies or something. Finally consulted Dr Google and went and got an AccuChek. Was at 470, so now I been in the hospital all day and staying overnight while learning as much as I can.

I am in the US right now, but I live in Portugal, so especially if you live there, I'd love some tips/tricks. All super new to me, so me and my wife are trying to learn as much as we can.

TL;DR: Looking for feedback on education system in Portugal, especially around Santarém.

I understand that there are a lot of people who hate it here, etc. But, we are here, we are staying for the foreseeable future.

I would like to hear from parents who moved here with kids or now have kids. How do you feel about the education system? We like Portugal a lot after being here six months, and now working as well. Yes, there are many things that annoy me but no more than the DMV or any other bureaucracy I've lived under. My one real worry is my kid getting a good education.

So... Do you like the schools your kids go to? Was it hard to find good education for them? Are they going to public or private schools? Extra interested if you are in the Santarém área as we will be moving there for my work.
