My grandfather's radio came back to life
Hey everyone, I wanted to share the mini PC I built inside this antique radio. This used to belong to my grandfather (I think it's from the 40s), and since it hasn't worked as a radio for a veeeeery long time, I decided to try turning it into a mini PC.
I bought a mini-ITX motherboard and repurposed some parts I had lying around from an old build (CPU, PSU, HDD, and RAM). I also added a little 4-inch screen I got from aliexpress and a pair of internal speakers so the sound comes out through the radio's original speaker opening.
Unfortunately, only one of the knobs is actually operational, but I managed to get it to control the volume. But yeah, that's it! It turned out looking pretty cool, and I'm going to keep this radio/PC next to my main rig to play music on Spotify, giving it the exact same purpose it had 80 years ago.
