Hit a car and never spoke to the other driver
This was a low speed crash that happened in a drop off line at school. I didn’t realize that the car in front of me pressed hard on their brakes and I ended up hitting the back of the SUV. Their exhaust pipe was turnt sideways but other than that my car took most of the damage. I pulled out of the line into the parking lot so traffic wouldn’t pile up and the police officer who was managing the drop off line followed me and had another police officer speak to the other driver. They filed a police report and gave me the number for it but that’s about it.
Now a month later, I got a letter from the BMV saying that I need to submit a form of insurance compensation or else my license will be suspended. I have insurance but it was never exchanged with the other driver. What should I do?
