Taking things literally
Can you guys give me examples of how you have taking things literally in your daily life, just to help me remember some of mine as online examples really aren’t helping.
I do take things literally and say things as i mean it, but they usually create quite small misunderstandments - ones that get resolved very quickly as both parties get confused and end up clarifying. Which then leaves me with little to no recollection of it as it’s so minor.
For example; Years ago, I posted a video where there was a trick that (realistically) it’s just one vid, but it looks like it’s been played twice.
Before posting, I debated for like 5 minutes straight whether I should caption it “watch the vid twice” or “watch the WHOLE vid”, as technically they’re not watching the video twice, just once, as the trick is that it’s been looped - but in their perspective the vid is played twice.
Chose the latter as it would waste people’s time watching the double loop twice.
It did infact confuse people… which I then had to explain everything.
