Erasmus Mundus Student

Hello everyone,

I will start my Erasmus Mundus studies in France this September, and I would like to ask if there are any kinds of support, benefits, discounts, or assistance available for married international students who financially support their families back home.

I am married, have one child, and another baby on the way. My family will remain in my home country while I study in France, and I will be fully responsible for supporting them financially.

I would really appreciate if anyone with a similar experience could share any useful information, advice, or available support programs for students in this situation.

Thank you in advance.

Living Costs in Nantes

I hope you are doing well. I will soon start my studies in Nantes, France, and I would like to ask a few brief questions regarding student life there.

Approximately how much would I need monthly excluding rent (food, transportation, daily expenses, etc.)?

My accommodation is around 5 km from the university. Is it practical to rely mainly on a bicycle for transportation in Nantes?

I heard that student meals at university restaurants can cost around 1 euro. Would Erasmus Mundus students be able to benefit from this?

Regarding CAF housing support, after the recent changes expected from July 1st, would international Erasmus Mundus students still be eligible, or is it still unclear whether the decision will apply to us?
