Health Insurance for Foreign Students who Already have a Numero Sécurité Sociale

I lived for France for three years and was assigned a social security number. I am currently living in another country and am in the process of applying for another student visa for my French masters degree, for which I will need insurance. Is it possible for me to apply with my droits de sécurité sociale, or will I need to buy a mutuelle until the benefits are reinstated?

Long-Stay Student Visa (France – Language Course) | Could you please review my application?

Hello everyone,
I hope you’re doing well.
I attended my Capago appointment on June 29 and applied for a French long-stay student visa (VLS-TS).
I was accepted into a French language program at the University of Nantes, and my goal is to study French in France.
1. My personal documents
Certified translation of my secondary school leaving certificate (Attestat)
Certified translation of my Bachelor’s degree diploma
Certified translation of my Master’s degree diploma
Certified translation of my Master’s transcript
Certified translation of my birth certificate
My passport and a copy
A copy of my national ID card
University of Nantes admission letter
Campus France payment receipt
EEF certificate
DELF A2 certificate (80/100)
Biometric photos taken at Capago
France-Visas application completed at Capago
An explanatory letter stating that I wished toarrive in Frances on July 15 to adapt to the environment before my course begins. I also indicated July 15 as my intended arrival date on my visa application.

2. Sponsor’s Documents (My Father)
Employment certificate (including salary)
Copy of his national ID card
Bank statements (salary account and pension account)
Note: I did not submit a bank balance certificate showing the total amount of money in his account. I only submitted the bank statements. Is a bank balance certificate usually required?
Employment record downloaded from the Azerbaijani e-Government portal (eGov.az).
The salary shown there was about €1,000 lower *than on his employment certificate, probably due to a recent salary increase and additional professional certifications.*The salary shown on my father’s employment certificate matches the salary reflected in his bank statements. His monthly salary is over €2,000.

Sponsorship letter

3.Accommodation Documents
I will be staying with a close family friend in France.
Signed Attestation d’hébergement (accommodation certificate)
Copy of my host’s French residence permit
Copies of my host’s passport and national ID card (although Capago did not keep these copies)
Avis d’échéance showing the accommodation and housing expenses

I would also like to mention that I did not submit a separate motivation letter because I had already explained my study project and my reasons for studying in France in detail on the Études en France (EEF) platform, so I believed that would be sufficient.

To be honest, I am quite worried about receiving a visa refusal. Even though I believe I submitted all the required documents, I keep wondering if I may have overlooked something.
Overall, do you think my application looks complete? Is there anything that stands out as missing or potentially problematic?
Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to read my post and share your experience. I truly appreciate any advice.

french student visa denied again (second time)

writing this here in case others had a similar experience. i've been trying to get a student visa to france to study french from the usa for the past seven months. both times refused due to "The information provided to justify the purpose and conditions of the intended stay is incomplete and/or not reliable.” here's a bit about my experience...

the first time:

applied for a nine month alliance francaise program

wasn't recommended by campus france (they suggested a visitor visa instead), but i pursued the student application anyway

made errors in my statement - i talked about how i had a french partner that would help support me, mentioned that i had savings but intended to work if allowed and mentioned my previous work experience, also cited my accommodation sponsor but mentioned i hoped to find an apartment ** all things i know now shouldn't be discussed

application at the visa center was missing the land deed for my house sponser

*admittedly in hindsight i was underprepared

documents i did bring: campus france "approval" (since i asked to pursue it anyway, although i later learned they still forwarded along their non-recommendation), passport, pre-admission/enrollment, housing letter from a host, host's id, host's utility bill, bank statements, france visas form

second attempt:

changed my program to a stronger university based DUEF

rewrote my statement of motivation with an emphasis on how this tied into my past and future academic/career background

attached letters of recommendation: 1 from a college prof, 1 from a high school language teacher

obtained a recommendation from campus france!

documents brought to appointment: campus france approval & email validation, france visas form, passport, university pre-enrollment certificate, university bill showing itemization of my courses, undergraduate university diploma, personal statement, personal finances with double the financial minimum reqs, recommendation letter, pre-purchased plane ticket, host accommodation signed letter, host's id, host's housing deed, host's utility bill

some other background about me:

i'm an american citizen, went to a prestigious private university, was an A student, no criminal background or other visa history

i'm at such a loss. i want to study french desparately but they won't let me in!! any advice? would it be a mistake to apply for a visitor visa instead.

Univ of Lille rejected me for "Insufficient Math" for Data Science. Their own website literally contradicts their decision. 🤯

https://preview.redd.it/8gw5eypuh7bh1.png?width=1736&format=png&auto=webp&s=4c6a43f9ed4def1ed1120849b808f17712be1ffe

Hi everyone. I just received a completely baffling rejection from the University of Lille for their Master Data Science program.

The official reason stated by the commission?

"Insufficient acquisitions in the fundamental disciplines of the training - Insufficient acquisition in Mathematics."

Here is the kicker. Their own program description explicitly states they are looking for students with:

"solid foundations in Mathematics (statistics, probability, optimization)"

I have an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering with a 3.60/4.00 CGPA. Look at my record for the very subjects they claim I lack:

  • Statistics: AA (Highest possible grade)
  • Probability: BA
  • Operations Research 1 & 2 (which is literally Optimization): AA
  • Differential Equations: AA
  • Mathematics 1: BA
  • Mathematics 2: BB
  • Linear Algebra: BA
  • Numerical Analysis: BA

How can a commission intelligently look at a transcript with top grades in Statistics, Probability, and Optimization, and conclude my math background is "insufficient" for a program that specifically asks for those exact three subjects?

This feels completely unjust, lazy, and contradictory to my actual record. It honestly feels like they just saw the "Industrial Engineering" title and hit an automated rejection button without ever glancing at the actual ECTS credits or my grades. It makes me heavily question the integrity and logic of their admission process.

Has anyone else faced such ridiculous, copy-paste rejections from French universities that completely ignore your actual transcript? I'm making a scene of this because it is just not right and people applying should know how arbitrary this process can be.

Is studying in France (especially Paris) worth it if I'm worried about getting a job afterward?

Hi everyone,

I've been thinking a lot about studying in France, preferably in Paris, and honestly, I'm feeling conflicted.

I'm genuinely interested in building a career there, especially in the luxury industry, but I'm worried about the job market after graduation.

Here are the things that keep running through my mind:

How difficult is it for international students to find a job in France after a master's?

Is speaking French at a B2 level enough, or do employers expect near-native fluency?

Are companies actually willing to hire and sponsor international graduates?

Has anyone regretted choosing France because they couldn't find work afterward?

If you graduated in the last couple of years, how long did it take you to get your first job?

If you could go back, would you still choose France?

I'm not looking for reassurance. I'd really appreciate honest experiences, whether positive or negative. I want to understand the reality before investing a significant amount of time and money.

Education loan with collateral but no ITR for co-applicant. Running out of time and don’t know what to do.

Hi everyone,

I’m in a really stressful situation and would really appreciate some advice.

I’ve been admitted to a master’s program in France and now need an education loan. The problem is with my co-applicant (my father).

Our situation is:

We own 3 residential/commercial properties:

1)One in a rural area (not sure of its current value).

2)One in a suburban area worth around ₹40–45 lakh.

3)Another property in a suburban area worth around ₹80 lakh–₹1 crore, which is about 90–95% complete.

My father’s current income includes:

1) ₹4,300/month from an Airtel telecom tower.

2) ₹3,400/month from a Jio telecom tower.

3) Around ₹6,000/month from a rural rental property (mostly paid in cash, sometimes online).

The nearly completed property is expected to generate around ₹21,000/month in rent. From what I know, Punjab National Bank has agreed to rent the premises for a branch once the construction is completed, although I’m not sure about the exact status of the agreement or documentation.

We also own 2 agricultural lands, but I’m unsure what documents are available to prove agricultural income in our area.

The biggest issue is that my father has never filed an ITR because most of his income has come from rent and agriculture, much of it in cash. We also don’t have formal rental agreements for some of the existing tenants.

I’m worried banks will reject my education loan despite us having genuine income and collateral. My university and visa deadlines are getting closer, so time is running out.

I’m honestly feeling stuck right now and don’t know what my next step should be. Any advice or experiences would mean a lot. Thank you.

Doubts Regarding VFS Financial Structure

Hello this might be a long message but please read this fully and guide us in this process please please

Both me and my friend are planning to proceed with the following financial structure for our France VFS student visa submission. We wanted to explain the complete plan clearly and confirm whether this is fine for submission.

MY FINANCIAL STRUCTURE

• Total First Year Tuition Fees: €9,527
• Pre-enrollment Fees Already Paid: €3,000
• Remaining Tuition Fees Pending: €6,527

• Education Loan: HDFC Credila
• Total Loan Sanctioned: ₹35 Lakhs
• Amount Already Disbursed: Around ₹17 Lakhs
• Disbursed amount currently available in HSBC account created for loan process

• Supporting documents available:

- Loan sanction letter
- Loan disbursement proof
- HSBC bank statement showing credited amount
- Tuition fee payment proof (€3,000 already paid)

• Sponsor support:

- Around ₹7 Lakhs in my father’s savings account
- Father’s last 3 years ITRs
- GST / business registration documents
- Sponsor bank statements

• Since the HSBC account was newly created for education loan disbursement purposes, we wanted to confirm whether the ₹17 Lakhs disbursed amount and corresponding bank statement can also be attached as part of financial proof.

My Friend's FINANCIAL STRUCTURE

• Total First Year Tuition Fees: €9,527
• Pre-enrollment Fees Already Paid: €3,000
• Remaining Tuition Fees Pending: €6,527

• Education Loan: HDFC Credila
• Total Loan Sanctioned: ₹35 Lakhs
• Amount Already Disbursed: Around ₹17 Lakhs
• Disbursed amount currently available in HSBC account created for loan process

• Supporting documents available:

- Loan sanction letter
- Loan disbursement proof
- HSBC bank statement showing credited amount
- Tuition fee payment proof (€3,000 already paid)

• Sponsor support:

- Around ₹7 Lakhs through combination of savings account + Fixed Deposit (FD)
- Mother’s last 3 years ITRs
- Sponsor bank statements
- FD proof documents

• Additional note:

- My Friend's mother resigned from her previous job in March, so recent payslips after that period are unavailable.
- However, previous employment history and ITR filings are fully proper and updated.

• Since the HSBC account was newly created for education loan disbursement purposes, we wanted to confirm whether the ₹17 Lakhs disbursed amount and corresponding bank statement can also be attached as part of financial proof.

Can you please let us know whether this complete financial structure for both of us is properly suitable and strong for France VFS submission

Can you guys recommend study abroad counselor for France (Paris) in Pune? Honest reviews needed.

Hi everyone,

My_qualifications are BBA IB MARKETING ( just graduated)

I'm planning to apply for a master's in France (preferably Paris) for the 2027 intake, and I'm looking for a trustworthy study abroad counselor in Pune.

I'm specifically looking for someone who:

Has good experience with French universities

Doesn't push only partner universities for commission

Helps with scholarships, SOP/LOR guidance, and visas

Is transparent about fees

Has experience with students applying to top schools in France

I've heard names like Campus France, IDP, Fateh Education, and GoFrance, but I'd love to hear from people who've actually worked with them.

If you've studied in France or are currently applying:

Which consultant did you use?

What was your experience like?

Any consultants I should avoid?

I'd really appreciate honest reviews, both positive and negative. Thanks!

Will large recent deposits in my sponsor's bank account hurt my French student visa application?

My father is my financial sponsor. His bank account had around €3,000 for the past two months, but this month my uncle gifted him €7,000, and next month he'll send another €6,000. So the balance will have increased from about €3,000 to €16,000 over two months.

The money is a legitimate family gift, and I'll block the required amount as requested and prepare all documents , My concern is whether these recent large deposits could raise red flags or lead to a visa refusal, even if all my other documents are correct.

Best private business schools in France? (Need honest opinions)

Hi everyone,

I’m an Indian BBA graduate with 1 year of work experience and 1 year of freelancing. My budget is around ₹20–25 lakhs for tuition, and I’m looking for an English-taught MBA/MiM/Business Analytics program in France.

I’m looking for private business schools that are genuinely respected by employers, have good ROI, strong placements, and aren’t just heavily marketed to international students.

Which schools would you recommend or avoid?

Thanks!
