Hello! I am going to PSL in the fall and am currently going through the visa process (USA). The visa requires proof of funding of 615 euros/month *12. I currently have the required amount, but I have 2 issues/concerns:
Within my last 3 bank statements, the oldest one is slightly below the required amount.
I have a scholarship that gives 550 euros/month for 5 months each semester. This scholarship has given no official document, as it is just given to all internationals within this program.
Will the oldest bank statement being below the required amount get me rejected? Or will it be fine, especially with the addition of the scholarship?
Do you recommend I ask PSL for a written statement about the scholarship to give to the embassy? (They have the scholarship on their website and in an email, but not an official award paper)
Thanks for any info!

Welp, people, this is fucked up.
Despite massive opposition from the academic community, despite getting humiliated at the consultative body of higher education CNESER (with 62 votes against the decree, 2 in favour, 3 abstentions, and 28 absents probably boycotting), the minister pushed up with his xenophobic plan.
He made a minuscule concession (to falsely claim he listened to concerns) and allowed universities to exonerate 30% of their students for this year (instead of 10%), 25% next year and 20% after that. This is ridiculous, and no one buys it.
This isn't the end! There will be legal challenges of this decree before the courts. Calls to strike/march have already started (though, do also keep in mind that we're in the end of the academic year, so that certainly doesn't help). And universities are bound to resist. I will try to keep you all updated on all that in this new post. Let's hope this stupid decision gets removed.
Things to note:
Here is the published decree : https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/jorf/id/JORFTEXT000054113646
I am looking to go for it in next year. I want to do research masters under this scholarship scheme but I am not sure about my profile.I have done Bachelor in Computer Engineering from Pokhara University and have got percentage of 81% and have done Java Internships and also have experience teaching the people with non tech background e.g Fabricators,Plumber etc about Java programming language also have taught lab programs for class 10 students and also have two publications paper in Q2 ranked journals published in undergrad degree although my syllabus doesn't contain research,I did it independently so is my profile good enough to get scholarship as I have research paper published in journals or is it downwatds as I only have 81% which is 3.3 CGPA.

Should I be worried that I recieved 0 news from any Masters so far? Everyone I applied to, no convocations nor acceptance nor rejections and I'm feeling pretty down. A majority of my masters don't require an interview iirc, and Monmaster says its normal and to just wait until the results come out in June. But I feel like so many people got an email thats either positive or negative by now and I don't even know if I'm waitlisted.
Should I email the unis to ask?
Hey Everyone, I am a non-EU student and also do not come under the CROUS DSE application criteria, so I am not eligible to apply for the rounds in order to get a accommodation. But i can apply for the additional round. So can any one shed some light, whether there will be enough accommodation left for students to book ? How easy is it to get accommodation in this phase ?
I am losing my mind. I’m currently going through the application process to study in France, and I am absolutely incensed by the existence of the "Etudes en France" (EEF) procedure.
Why the fuck am I being charged 425 USD just to use a shitty, clunky, and opaque web portal?
Here’s the kicker: based on my nationality/passport, I wouldn't even be required to use this bureaucratic nightmare. But because the undergraduate institution I’m graduating from is technically "qualified" or "linked" to the EEF system, I’m forced to go through this administrative hell. I don't even have a choice. I have to pay this absurd, arbitrary fee just to get the "privilege" of applying to a school that should be able to process my application directly.
And that’s just for the application portal. It’s not even the visa. I still have to pay another 150 USD on top of that for the actual visa fees.
What in the absolute fuck is this system?
Is the "point" of EEF just to extract money from international students under the guise of "guidance and support"? Because the "support" I’ve gotten so far is just a list of demands and a "pay here" button. It feels less like an educational pathway and more like a toll booth on a highway I didn't even ask to drive on.
Does anyone actually know what the money is for? Is it processing? Is it because they know we have no other choice? It’s infuriating that I’m being nickel-and-dimed for every single step of this process while the system itself feels like it’s being held together by duct tape and audacity.
If anyone can explain how this is anything other than a glorified, mandatory tax on international students, please let me know, because right now it just feels like I'm being treated like a walking ATM for the French government.
TL;DR: Forced into using the Études en France portal against my will because of my university, paying a ridiculous 425 USD fee for the "process" plus 150 USD for a visa, and feeling like this system is nothing more than a predatory cash cow.
salut,
hi! I’m planning to apply for my masters after finishing my undergrad and I’m a bit unsure if I have the chance to get admitted to any unis with my preferred program due to my GWA not being too high :,) although I did do a lot of extracurriculars (leadership roles) that’s why it was hard to maintain a high grade. I got discouraged when I realized I wouldn’t have a chance to apply for sciences po due to their minimum average. so far I only have 2 schools that I can apply to with the program that I want and I’m nervous that I might not get admitted to any of them especially due to my GWA and lack of french. Is it possible to get admitted with a GPA below 3.3/4.0?
Dear Reddit community,
I am stuck in my preparation for the France 2026 Master’s intake. I have completed my Campus France interview, and out of the 7 universities I applied to, I got accepted into 2 universities. The first one is Sorbonne Université – DIGIT: International Program, and the second one is EURECOM Master’s in Data Science.
I got admission to Sorbonne University. After completing my application, I also received admission to EURECOM Data Science. Of course, Sorbonne is a big and reputed university, but I am more interested in pursuing a Data Science course.
Now, I have to make a choice before May 31 on the EEF portal regarding which college I am going to choose.
Can anyone help explain the DIGIT program at Sorbonne Université? After completing M1 at Sorbonne, will I have any good options to pursue M2 related to Data Science or Management?
review about DIGIT program at Sorbonne Universite?
Can anyone also share their review about EURECOM?
Any suggestions on choosing between Sorbonne Université and EURECOM would be greatly appreciated.
Your answers to these questions will help me make the right decision.
I am a bit confused on how to show my sufficient funds as the banks in my country of residence do not offer blocked bank accounts. I can, however, open a savings account and lock it for a set amount of time, but I am not sure whether this will be accepted by the Consulate? Would appreciate if someone has done something similar or has other recommendations for me!
Hey everyone!
I'm an international student (Indian) starting the DIGIT program (Master in Computer Science – Digital International Program) at Sorbonne University, Paris this September. I'm really excited about the program but I wanted to get some real-world perspective on the job market before I dive in.
A few things I'm curious about:
1. Post-DIGIT career paths — What kind of roles do DIGIT/Sorbonne CS alumni typically land? I'm interested in computer vision, ML, and AI — are there good opportunities in Paris/France for these specialisations?
2. Employability rates — I've seen France has around 79.9% graduate employment rate (Eurostat 2024), which seems lower than Germany (91.9%) — is the CS market specifically better than that average?
3. Language barrier — How much does not speaking French affect your job search? I'm taking French classes but will only be at an intermediate level by graduation. Is English enough for tech roles in Paris?
4. International students specifically — After graduating, did you manage to get a work visa / APS (Autorisation Provisoire de Séjour)? How long did the job search take?
5. Salary expectations — What's a realistic starting salary for a CS/ML engineer in Paris fresh out of a Master's?
Any insights from current students, alumni, or people working in the French tech industry would be super helpful. I want to know if it's worth building my career here long-term or if France is more of a stepping stone!
Thanks in advance 🙏
Hi everyone,
I am an Indian student trying to decide between two very different paths to reach my end goal: a PhD in Hardware-aware AI/Robotics at a top-tier US university.
Option 1: The International "Grande École" Path
Option 2: The "Local-to-Global" Research Path
I would love your perspective on:
I want to make a choice that maximizes my chances for a PhD without setting myself up for financial failure. Has anyone here made this choice or worked on US admissions committees?
Thanks!
Hey guys,
Since, essec mim r4 results are out just now, ppl who have received an interview - kindly mark your attendance. Let's help each other out.
i am 3 months away from starting my course in paris and need an accommodation fir my visa. however i am not able to find a suitable place. can i reserve a hotel which is pay later and go ahead with my visa application? would it be accepted? i am interested in cancelling the booking later when i get a more permanent place to stay at. would this plan work?
Hlo everyone
I need some suggestions for university/schools in france for engineering in cs

Hi everyone, I have an upcoming interview for join a school in France and wanted to ask what I should expect. What kind of questions do they usually ask, and how should I prepare?
Hello everyone, I'm admitted into a double program of mathématiques - informatique for L1. My family's budget is tight therefore I want to finance my own studies as much as possible. For context I'm a student from outside of EU therefore I have work permit around 960 hours per year. Accomodation with bills will cost around 600 euros (CAF isn't any longer available for students outside of EU). Even if I can afford to pay that, it would be a huge relief.
I thought about teaching Turkish to others on preply platform but it is basically too competitive. Now I'm considering teaching English to possible French students but I'm neither a native speaker of French nor English so I'm not sure if I could find students. Another thought I had was taking a high score on Sat exam and tutoring students.
I'm just confused now, I'm open to any recommendations you guys can give, thanks in advance.
Hi!
I would like to know how good is the bachelor of l'X in terms of rigour and mathematical level, its advantages and disadvantages. I know it's not the same as the cycle d'ingénieur, but for its purpose (top masters and PhD tracks) how good is it? Is it an elite program? What if someone receives a full scholarship?
Compared to other licences (Dauphine, Saclay, Sorbonne...) is it better or worse?
Of course if you did the bachelor of l'X, you're currently there or you know someone who did it feel free to give your answer!
