Look for Clothing Advice for Early September :)

I’m going to Maine the second week of Sept. and we’ll be staying in Orland, but also spending a lot of our time in Acadia and potentially Bar Harbor area (itinerary is more of a day by day - suggestions for this welcome as well!).

My main question is how do I dress, especially to hike? I’ve been reading that mid 60’s during the day and low 50’s at night are common. But when yall are hiking do you get hot in pants and long sleeves because you’re moving? Or is that the correct attire? Should I just wear layers and shed?

I’m just really trying not to overpack because that’s always a fault of mine lol. Also for casual wear, of course I’m bringing jeans but short sleeves, light long sleeves, sweaters? And we may be going on some sort of boat tour (AKA out on the ocean) and I’m assuming that can get chilly?

Thanks in advance everyone :) I’m used to September in Colorado and the hot midwest so I’m trying to gauge where it’s at 😂

Itinerary advice!

Hi everyone!

A group of friends and I are traveling to ME in early Sept. and we’re planning on staying in Bar Harbor. We plan to spend a few days exploring Acadia (me and my best friend LOVE national parks), a day exploring Bar Harbor, we would like to do some whale watching, I personally would love to go on a birding tour, and she (beat friend) was also looking at the lighthouse tours.

Hikes she has picked out so far (her and I are both pretty seasoned hikers and have informed our friend group to only choose what they feel capable of accomplishing).
- Cadillac Mountain Northridge Trail
- Thunder Hole to Sand Beach Trail
- Beehive Trail
- South Bubble Mountain & Jordan Pond Loop

I would love suggestions of who to tour with (for whale and bird watching, and maybe the lighthouses if that’s necessary? haven’t done a lot of research on that bit yet), what hikes are the most worth it, where in the area to explore, favorite places to each, or just general tips!

TIA!

Hi friends! A group of friends and I (4 couples aka 8 adults and potentially 1 infant) are wanting to travel to Costa Rica January 13th-20th.

We want to spend time in La Fortuna to do some hiking and see the wildlife and just explore in general. And then we want to go to the beach for a few days and are thinking of staying in Manuel Antonio.

Would yall recommend staying 4 days in La Fortuna and 3 in Manuel Antonio? Or opposite?

Also looking for recommendations on who to book excursions with, what to go see, car rental information, and just general tips.

Also open to traveling elsewhere in the country rather than these two places if anyone recommends somewhere that is more worth it! We would just like to see as much as possible! And I know doing 10 days or 2 weeks would be more convenient but currently can’t guarantee the whole group could get that much time off.
