Faribo Pak-A-Robe

I found this at an antique store today for $40. I loved the colors and seeing its original carrying case and box sealed the deal. I realized later that this is from 1965 because of the label on the box. And when I opened the case, the blanket is in pristine condition. I don’t think it’s been removed from the case before. I thought it was a cool find.

Millennial managers - how do you find balance ?

I am in a management position at work and I constantly find myself wanting to be flexible with my staff but struggling because I also need them to actually be productive and get their stuff done!!
I’m 32, have about 10 employees, and am the youngest in my department. I work in health care, but a more office type setting. How we operate now, the hours can be flexible and sometimes you can work from home. Our work does help with making sure patients receive good care.

These people in my dept are well established in their roles. Like working there way before me. I also worked their roles, so I know what would be realistic work for me.
They frequently act like they have no idea what they’re doing. How do you not know what you’re doing but I do? Where did I learn it from?? I know what realistic productivity expectations are.. what are you doing all day??

Honestly I don’t expect someone to be productive 8 hours a day at work, and I really don’t care what hours you work as long as the work gets done!

I struggle because I want to be a hardass, but then I question if I have realistic expectations for others ? Are they taking advantage of me? Or do I need to hold their hand for every step of the process ?

How do you find the balance between fuck the man but the work actually needs to get done??

I’m sorry this is rambling. I just wanna know if anyone else feels this way in their job? What have you done about it ?
I feel like the millennial in me really struggles with this.

Need advice on “smart casual” dress code

Hello,

This weekend I am attending an Afternoon Tea in NYC and the dress code required by the hotel is “smart casual.”
I am posting here in hope of getting some examples as to what smart casual means.
Can dark was jeans be considered smart casual? What kind of shoes can you wear ?

I will be spending the whole day in the city so I would like to wear pants.

Thanks for any advice!
