Was it as good as the others?

So I was going through some of the books I had read previously. I am a huge Ames Mills fan, I mean her Riches to Riches Duet is my favourite of all time. She released Beta Team Part 2 (first book) and then took a lot of time releasing the second book.

Now the thing about me is I hate reading incomplete series, so I wait till the series is done to read it (which is why I still have read Beasts of the Briar even though I really want to)

So when the second book was released, I immediately read both - and was disappointed cuz of the arrangement they had (basically with 2h)

I don't know if I was disappointed cuz of the wait (because when you're excited, you build it up and get disappointed) or if I was genuinely disappointed because of the dynamic.

It just felt weird to have 2 centres in the book, it felt a bit off. I prefer RHs with MM because they are very inclusive and most of the time, all Ms are with each other and the F, so there are no weird awkward friendships within the harem (which is why I loved Riches to Riches)

What do you guys think?

Fed up with misogynistic hereos in certain mafia romances

So recently I was reading Bartered Innocence by B. Sobjakken and I DNFed it halfway through.

Basically the plot was that the FMC is afraid of arranged marriage so she goes on and has an ONS with a stranger (so that she can lose her virginity and become ineligible for marriage). The stranger turns out to be her future husband, he blackmails her into marrying him and even calls her a "whore for spreading her legs" and doesn't even apologise or feel bad about it when she is distressed or cries.

I am so fed up with authors for using sex as the way the characters fall in love, especially the way FMCs ignore the rude and hurtful behaviour of MMCs just because they're attracted to them.

And most of the time, MMCs never apologise or even feel remorseful for their behaviour.

I have also noticed a pattern in Michelle Heard's books, where the guy is an asshole to the girl, she ignores it (or has stockholm syndrome) and falls in love with him anyways (without groveling). Especially her book Stolen by a Sinner where the FMC doesn't even mind that the MMC shot her.

I am so sick of MMCs acting all macho, being unnecessarily rude to the FMCs and not feeling bad at all.

Anyways, that was my rant...

EDIT: I would like to clarify that this is something I don't like. A lot of people are into these types of books and that's okay and their choice. Through the post, I am just trying to express my opinions and tastes. There can be people who have similar tastes and those who might not agree which is okay. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and choices.
