Contacting the advisor

Hey everyone, I’m a little unsure about when I’m supposed to contact my academic advisor. I’m an incoming student and I’m not really sure if we’re expected to reach out to them ourselves before classes start, or if we’re supposed to wait until they contact us.

For those who are also incoming students, have you already reached out to your academic advisor? If so, what did you ask them about? Just trying to figure out if I’m behind on something or overthinking it 😅

Question on Transfer Credits for A level courses for Freshmen.

Hello all,

I am an incoming freshman for Fall 2026. I would have to start registering for the Fall courses. I expect to get transfer credits for my A level courses in Mathematics, Business studies and Economics. If I do receive credits, is there a place where I can check the courses at NEU that I would not have to repeat to save time and money.

This process is rather daunting, and would love to hear from folks from the earlier year freshmen on how they approached transfer credits and the courses that they did not have to repeat.

Thanks
