Is AS physics as hard as everyone says?

I plan to go into medicine by taking bio + chem. the 3rd subject now must be either physics, or mathematics. But i’m very confused in which one to pick. Everyone and every atom i know keeps saying that physics is a slaughterhouse, a extreme demon typa Alevel subject and is nothing like IG, and where i would suffer miserably and get tortured while they all say Maths is a heaven’s hand with happiness and eternal delights. I’m confused at this point. Physics is ALSO required in many, many entrance exams in some countries like Pakistan, even if i don’t do my University in Pakistan, maths and physics are considered equal. For medicine, i plan to take MBBS or BDS. Biotech is also in the line of sight, but that requires maths so not really. Any Alevel student can tell me, is all of the physics a huge hyperbole? Is it so true that i should take maths over physics if i score a 94 PUM in physics but an 77-79 in maths for my MJ26 scores? Thanks for reading fr. Taking Edexcel IAL / IAS for A-level. Did cambridge for igcses.

What do you guys use for bags in college?

I have no idea what to buy for my A levels. I'm a girl. What bags do you guys use, like a normal school backpack? A good leather tote? I was thinking of buying a good leather tote with good enough pockets to keep my laptop and whatever is needed. Do we have to keep our A-level books with us, etc in school? I wont be using an iPad for A levels so i would obv have to keep a notepad and stationery, do you guys keep hardcopy past papers and books too? Help a girl out, please. Also is math, phy, econ a good a level combo?

How do I find students to tutor?

I finish my A-Levels last month and now I'm free. I have good grades and I know I can tutor students. I want to start but I don't know how. Anyone with experience, please tell me how to start.

A level study tips

  1. Very obviously, you need to write all the important mps by hand when checking your homeworks and use a red pen to underline the mps gained + adding the missing mps so it helps you while studying

  2. Study from the official text book (if you're doing CIE) and do your own handwritten notes neatly. It's always very important because it'll be your main source of studies. Check out channels and animations, particularly to topics that require lots of visualization, such as topics involving channel ions or excretion. It always helps you grasp the information and helps a lot with memorization. If you need suggestions for channels, I'll be happy to share some.

  3. . Side note that I personally use before every subject's exam --> I'd write every- baffling idea/ ideas that I find difficulty in memorizing/ easily forgotten / anything important, down in A4 papers and stick it to the wall infront of my desk. I revise these before every mock exam till they stick to my head before the exam. I'd write down page numbers that I need to look over again before any exam too.

  4. Never rely fully on tutors notes or solving homeworks. Always exceed as much as you can, draw a table in your excel sheet and mark out every exam you solved + studied from the ms & examiner report so I can see my progress which encouraged me to do more. Solve as much as you possibly can and don't waste too much time on studying notes. Solving is always more important

  5. Never procrastinate on revising topics. Keep up consistency so you revise on the entire syllabus every 2 weeks or so, but not longer because details are very easily forgotten. Highlighting the important lines also saves time when you do a quick revision from your notes

Alevels combinations

What A-Level subject combination would you recommend for someone aiming to study Economics/Finance at top universities like LSE, NYU Abu Dhabi, NUS, and Bocconi? I'm currently considering Maths, Economics, and Accounting. Is this combination strong enough, or would another combination be better?

GUYS TEAA

So I just heard about where some of the papers are coming from. Apparently two of the big name colleges. From what people are saying, teachers there get access to them directly from examiners and then pass them to students. That way they cover their costs and keep the extra for themselves.
This whole situation is so messed up. They apparently had everything beforehand.🙏

Just finished IGCSEs – what are the best A Level resources?

Hey everyone,

I just finished my IGCSEs and I'll be starting AS Levels after the summer. I want to get ahead before school starts, so I was wondering what online resources you guys actually found useful.

I'm looking for websites, notes, question banks, YouTube channels, legal PDFs, or anything else that made A Levels easier. I'll be taking Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.

If you could start A Levels all over again, what resources would you use?

Thanks! :)
