An interesting history about amethysts (aka Sophie's favorite gemstone)

  • Before the Victorian era, amethysts were strictly worn by royalty only. Given that Sophie's necklace held a special meaning because not only was it worn by her mother, but it also signified her true noble heritage
  • Sophie's engagement ring from Benedict and Violet's grandmother is (seemingly in appearance) an amethyst. Not only is this a huge romantic gesture, he is telling Sophie she is royalty to him.
  • Just before Queen Victoria's reign, amethyst mines had been widely discovered in South America. Before, only one mine in the Siberian mines of Russia were known to contain the deep purple stone.
  • After they had been discovered in South America and the rest of the world, even commoners were now allowed to wear amethysts
  • The Tower of London safe keeps dozens of pieces including sceptres and crowns containing hundreds of carats worth in amethysts.
  • Yes, indeed- the amethyst is the national gemstone of Kores

I have never changed my dolls out of their meet clothes because for whatever reason I prefer their meet clothes over other outfits

I do like buying all of the books and items in their collection I really want. But I don't have the heart to change Felicity's, Samantha's, or Cecile's meet outfits. They are too awesome to look at. I have always died for Felicity's rose print dress.

Anyone else like this with their dolls? Or are you someone who prefers the clothing over the items in their collections?

And especially the fans who say it was her own fault when she got sent away at the end of season 3. I will be one of those people who will be brave enough to say: No it wasn't. If you had wonderful families growing up that were mostly sunshine and rainbows, then you have absolutely nothing to say about this topic.

And yes, I do blame Eloise for not mentioning Cressida's situation to either Penelope, Queen Charlotte, her mother, or literally ANYONE ELSE. All she talked about was wanting to liberate abused women and women who were forced into marriages they didn't want.

I also blame her mother for allowing both her husband and his aunt to abuse her, and not getting into the carriage with her while she was being sent off in the last episode. There are plenty of people who can be blamed for Cressida's situation that are not solely Cressida herself.

EXCUSE ME- there was a woman going through all this and then some right in front of you. Yes, it was your responsibility to do SOMETHING. But you were too selfish and concerned about your toxic friendship with Penelope and her stupid Whistledown gossip column to do anything else for anyone besides yourself.

I am thrilled for Cressida in season 4. She seems to have married a very nice man, she genuinely seems to be happy and in love and I want that so much for her and more. Cressida deserves to be happy just like any other character in the show.

All of y'all like to throw around the tired excuse that Cressida still could have been nice to other women. Clearly you have never had parents like Cressida's, so if you didn't: stay in your own lane. It is incredibly easy for heroes in FICTION to be pleasant and kind to anyone around them. Not so much in real life. I really did expect better behavior from people who are fans of Regency era romances, and the world definitely wasn't kind to women growing up during these times.
