I used a clear straw and actual acrylic powder with nail polish on top to give the nails a silver underneath. Not my cleanest work but considering how small they are I’ll take it lol.

I made a post a couple days ago about how I lost all my doll clothes in my November move. I have a few things licking around that I’m not interested in, and I was hoping to trade for a different doll or some outfits.

I recently restored my 1994 Samantha and it has brought soooo much joy to my life. I just adore her. I’ve decided she must have Nellie to keep her company but she’s been impossible to find at an affordable price so far. Does anyone have any tips? I found this pictured doll for sale on fb marketplace $65… is this her same face? Thinking I could attempt to rewig. If I can’t afford to get an actual Nellie that may be my best bet. Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated!

was casually scrolling FB marketplace this morning (like at 6am) and managed to nab a Caroline for $80!! her hair is a HOT MESS but i’m actually kind of excited to try and tackle it as my first restoration project. her limbs are pretty loose and she has some scuffs but other than that i think she is gorgeous! i will take any advice on dealing with her hair lol

Tentatively putting this under customization but decisions may be better. anyway. I've had this idea rolling around my head for a bit but I'm stuck on what head mold I'd use... Kaya's mold seems like an obvious choice but I worry that Speaking Rain wouldn't look 'different' enough even with new eyes, especially since I want to dress her in Kaya's adorned deerskin dress(since it has deer teeth like the dress she's described to be wearing in kaya shows the way) so then I thought, Josefina's mold would look nice too. idk! These are just thoughts haha I haven't bought anything yet! If there's maybe a more suitable mold I haven't thought of then suggest away! Or if there are custom Speaking Rains out in the world please share them
I sent my second hand TM 58 Bonnie Joy in for a new head. I originally got her from Marketplace for $40, and I tried to fix her up. However, that hair was too far gone. I used my points to make her $55 cheaper.
I sent her May 8th and she arrived today.
This is my first successful attempt at making doll clothes!! My sister was cleaning out her closet and had a pile she’d be throwing away and asked if I wanted anything, I took a few shirts with cute patterns to try making into doll clothes! This was my first attempt and I’m so happy with how it turned out ( just don’t look too close or you’ll see all the flaws haha!). I wrapped the doll’s torso in plastic wrap then covered it with painters tape, then cut it off of the doll and traced the pattern onto the fabric. There’s a really pretty floral tank top that I’m excited to turn into a summer dress!
Unfortunately she came with snipped hair at the front, hair so matted I will probably spend 4 hours restoring it, an unidentified sticky substance in her eye, permanent marker writing on her body, a failed lipstick job in her mouth as well as a “manicure” and lovely pen “eyeliner”. Lol.
Luckily I’m getting into doll restoration, so hopefully this is a fun project for me with a great result :) I’m hoping to start up a “doll hospital” locally so this will be great practice. I already failed removing and reinstalling eyes on an “off brand” (Springfield collection) doll, so I’m hoping i can get rid of the sticky brown substance in her eye without removing them. If all else fails, I got a cheap Elizabeth at the end of the day and will send her to the AG hospital :P
I’m thinking about filming/ documenting my process fixing her up, not sure if anyone would even be interested in that. Just figuring out a way to film with one hand and a finding decent setup that isn’t my bathroom floor hahaha.

Recently me and my sister decided to swap rooms which i’m super excited about since her room is the second biggest in the house! My only concern is.. how can I pack up these girls for a safe small trip? I would like to have them in a big pile so it can be easier for them to get to the new room in one go without any problems or cats getting into them. Much appreciated!
My childhood #18.2 (Kengela) is loving her new hiking gear! This wasn’t a PC outfit that I particularly coveted as a kid, but I am OBSESSED with the amazingly 90s shirt that comes with it so I started shopping around for just the top. After seeing a few dolls on this sub rocking the complete outfit, and being inspired by the 90s adventure babe customs of Drs. Jo Harding and Ellie Statler, I was inspired to buy the whole thing. So glad I did. Kengi is ready for an adventure!
So we know that Mattel announced a new American Girl movie with Paramount back in 2023. We got a brief update from the Mattel Films CEO last year that production is going well!
A film like this would usually take 3-5 years from production announcement to theaters. 4 years from 2023 is 2027!
Who’s the GOTY 2027? Daisy Davenport, who attends Camp Gowonagin like Molly! Who’s a similar age to Daisy? Raquel, who is Samantha’s descendant.
Hear me out. What if… the American Girl film will be about the descendants of the original girls!?
Why are we getting a book teaser *this* early? One has to wonder if it’s to promote hype for an upcoming movie?

- Rebecca is a mostly unmodified Rebecca doll that my dear friend helped me get back in 2024. She's a pre-BeForever version doll with stunning eyes. Eventually I need to check her neck tag to figure out her production year. I adore her and am excited to finally change her out of her meet outfit!
- Ana started as a very TLC Julie doll. She got a new to her wig from eBay that was restyled to her current look (this is actually the more relaxed curl version). She was inspired by reading about concepts both for the Rebecca and proposed Ana dolls. She's very special to me too since we share a name.
