Being off Strattera???

Hey so my psych upped my dosage from 40mg to 80mg about 5 weeks ago and told me on that day to schedule an appointment that would’ve happened around this week or so BUT I forgot and I only have 5 more capsules left.

Based on the scheduling software, my psych doesn’t have availability until June 2nd… I’m going to call Monday and see if I can be squeezed in before I have to travel out of town Wednesday night, but in the case that I can’t, what would be the effects of not being Strattera for about two weeks?

Aside from slight improvements in task initiation and now constipation, my concentration, impulsivity, and forgetfulness still remain at the same level as it was before the med…

How did you know your prescription was working?

How did you know your Strattera/atomoxetine was working?

I started on 40mg around march 28th and got switched to 80mg two weeks later bc I wasn’t experiencing anything not even side effects, so the dosage was increased and around this week I’ve noticed these positive effects:

  1. Slightly Easier to initiate tasks
    2.Better impulse control
    3.Reduced food noise/appetite
  2. Decreased frustration when I lose something or am cleaning

But I noticed these negative effects:

  1. Constipation
  2. No improvement in my focus/concentration
  3. Brief nausea for like 30 minutes
4.still having constant thoughts and ideas all with seconds of each other
  4. Talking and jumping around in conversation etc.
  5. Ruminations

I understand that meds can’t fix everything so I’m trying to see if this is as much as I can expect from any adhd med/Strattera or if I need to wait longer to see effects. Throughout the 5 weeks so far I’ve forgotten two doses when I was on 40mg in the starting weeks would that delay effects? My dr started me out on this and mentioned that if I don’t see any improvements then we’d move to stimulants, so I’m just trying to gauge what I should expect the medication to improve and what else I should do through coaching and therapy! Thanks in advance :)
