Whoever is pleading for more live service games, please stop.
I’ve been seeing a lot of developer interviews explaining the players *want* the next live service hero/extraction shooter in preparation for releasing the 50th iteration of the same game with different skins instead of standalone experiences like Crimson Desert or Pragmata. I just want to know who these players are that keep telling them that.
I hate hearing about how studios like Sony keep canceling these awesome games and giving us garbage like Overwatch III: Concord or Arc Raiders II: Marathon. I feel like players get to hear about these awesome concepts and canceled games where you get to play as awesome characters in a story driven action adventure based on cool series and instead we’re stuck with the same developer giving us Steaming Pile Remastered or Empty Servers Online.
I understand that every developer wants to catch lightning in a bottle, so I don’t fault them for taking the gamble, but when they say that “players want (the same game they’ve already been playing)” and cancel the cool shit, I have to ask who these players are that are giving them this advice?
