Hi, not a local here, so wanted to get some advice from people around Siliguri/Darjeeling. Me and a friend are planning a Darjeeling trip — leaving on 3rd and reaching Siliguri on 4th before heading up to Darjeeling.

A few people mentioned that travelling around election result day might not be the best idea because of possible unrest, transport issues, bandhs, etc. So just wanted to ask — how are things usually around that time? Would it still be okay to travel or would postponing by a few days be the safer option?

Would really appreciate honest opinions from locals or anyone who’s travelled during election result time before.
