Basement subgrade
Before pouring the basement slab, do you recommend pea gravel or crushed concrete as the sub-grade? Also do you compact the dirt below the pea gravel?

8 months after foundation was poured
MI foundation walls. What would you do in my situation? Do I have any way to get the contractor back to fix these issues that weren’t caught until now? Can they be held accountable or do I need to fix this out of pocket? Is epoxy enough to fix these issues?

Do I need a structural engineer?
Diagonal hairline crack on foundation wall 8 months after pouring. This is on a new home build. A few hairline cracks on a few other walls but they are all vertical. Do I need to have a structural engineer take a look?
