pls don't just leave because of a cheater :(
i get that it's annoying to play with a cheater, but if u leave the match u kinda screw the other guy too who didn't deserve it. just play it out and block them please

question for successful d5 recluse players
ive been struggling to make a build for recluse lately because of RNG problems.
i've been trying to make an "all rounder" build that is magic attack up on the regular relics and then affinity up on the deep relics because frankly, sometimes i dont even get a single staff from a boss drop, so i figure whether its a staff or a seal i find, i'll just use whatever the best thing i find is. problem with this is sometimes even with a good spell i feel like im not putting out enough damage.
additionally, i realized that this was not the best for if im fighting adel or balancers, since they are neutral on magic negation. so i made one all magic attack up build, and then made an all affinity + dormant seals build for everything else. the problem with just affinity build however is that then neither fire, holy, or lightning is boosted very highly and then i dont get the big damage i might get with a more specialized build. but a specialized build is so risky because it relies completely on you finding a good spell, which in my experience happens maybe 50 or 60% of the runs (i swear i have abysmal luck on getting good drops, it feels like im cursed sometimes!!)
so my question is, how are you guys doing your builds? do u specialize based on the boss? or do u have an all rounder type build. i know im not the only one struggling with spell rng because i see other people posting
edit: thanks for all the good comments guys i appreciate it! lots to think about and try
forgive me if this is common knowledge... but there are creepy little men inside the dumpling creatures....... and yet the headpiece has a separate mouth and teeth D:
Has this happened to anyone else?
Last night I was playing with randoms, a wylder and a revenant. Just as we are loading into the boss arena, the revenant dc's and the wylder and i are hit with frost breath, killing both of us instantly, and since the revenant was gone, we lost. i'm not sure i could even see caligo, just the frost breath hitting us.
Just some kind of weird glitch?
Personally, I would ask them their reasoning behind giving revenant lightning spear and beast claw as starting incantations but couldn't give recluse glintstone ice crag.
What are your burning comments or questions for the Nightreign dev team?
sad to admit this, but i basically only just found out that there is an underground map to explore. i came across this and was shocked. i wanted to bad to go up to it but we were headed to the crystal at this point (i accidentally found myself underground while looking for crystals)
lately i've been having multiple runs (D5) where i get the most insane rng as recluse - for example, last night im on a team with another recluse, both of us have gravity relics, and by the end of the run, i had only found TWO staves, neither with gravity spells, one of which i gave to the second recluse and she used until the end, meaning she didnt find anything better either.
multiple runs i've had where i can barely get a single staff, and seals are just as bad even if i have the dormant power equipped.
melee weapons though i find in excess all the time, so every boss drop im either taking passives or giving stuff away.
it's really starting to put me off recluse because bad spell rng can ruin a run! the night invader meta definitely isnt helping either.
I don't know if you are familiar with Splatoon at all, but in the game you can earn chunks in order to switch out abilities on your gear (hats, clothes, and shoes). Some abilities are exclusive to either hats, clothes, or shoes.
My idea is that, as you sell old relics, it turns the particular abilities on it into "chunks" (so for example, if you sell a relic with "increased maximum HP", you would get one "chunk" of "increased maximum HP".
Then, with your collection of chunks, you could go to a merchant and "insert" your chunks for a specific ability into any particular relic you want for a specified amount of chunks. So for example, maybe +2 magic attack up might cost (for example) 30 chunks of "+2 magic attack up", and +4 might be 50? (these are just random numbers, I'm sure Fromsoft would have better data to decide the prices).
This way there would be an in-game legit way to have perfect relics, and would also have the bonus of making ALL relic abilities more valuable because you would at least get chunks from them. It would give more satisfaction to grinding otherwise useless relics.
I'm not sure how they'd deal with the relic drawbacks for deep relics. Maybe separate chunks for the drawbacks? Worst case would be a random drawback when you insert a relic ability that requires one.
Thoughts? I personally wish they would implement something like this sooner rather than later. I'm so sick of sifting through 99.9% useless relics just to find one here or there that is passably useful.
i just had the worst experience yet in nightreign. i matched with the same two people twice in depth 3. the first run went super smoothly and we steamrolled everdark sentient pest. the second run, we got the crystal map. everything was going fine until near the end of day two, i got lost behind them in the castle and died to a page on my own, and i had to go back in the storm to get them and died again, and then one of them ended up dying as well. i could tell the one that died was mad at me because they were spamming/wiggling their weapon at me when they caught up to me.
anyway, we ended up with one guy level 15, one 14, and me at 13. it was level 3 everdark libra. as soon as we got in the arena, the two of them split up and ran to opposite sides of them map leaving me to start the fight. it took a moment to realize they werent coming to help me so i ran to find them, but they just kept running away from me. realizing what they were doing i just let myself die. then they came to revive me and then ran off again. so i died, they revived again. and then the condemned started showing up and they just kept fighting the condemned while never touching libra.
they did that for almost a whole 30 minutes until finally we all died and the game ended.
i guess it was really important to them to shame me. maybe they are hoping i will quit the game from this experience? lol
at first i was kind of upset but the more i think about it, the more insane it seems and kind of intriguing. oh well
