Canada work permit to tourist visa
Hey good people of Reddit,
I currently live in Alberta on a temporary work permit. My visa expires on May 27, and I’m planning to leave for the USA that day for a three-week road trip (I already have my ESTA approved).
My question is: do I need to apply online for any kind of visa or document to come back to Canada just to catch my flight home to Europe? I already have my plane ticket purchased from Calgary.
I’ll need to spend about a week in Canada to sort out some stuff and pick up my luggage that I’ll be storing here.
I’ve been searching around and from what I understand, I should be able to just show up at the Canadian border and request entry as a tourist for the short time I need. Is it really that simple, or is there something else I should do to make the process smoother?
