I am planning on getting my man the short lined cruiser for his bday and hoping for some guidance on sizing
He is a big guy - 6ft2 and 300 lbs. He is both very muscular and quite generously padded, and as a result he has a hard time getting clothes that fit, as his chest->waist drop is more than what clothes are cut for. If it fits in the chest, it's too big in the waist for him - basically the same problem that all muscular guys have with OTR sizing.
His measurements:
Chest: 54"
Upper waist: 48.5"
Belly: 51"
Pant Waist: 47"
I was all set on getting a 3XL for him until I came across a post by another gent who is 6ft10/330lbs and got the 2XL tall (which sadly doesn't seem available any more?)
We are overseas with no in-country stockists, and shipping is $70, so would prefer not to have to return.
He will wear at most a light sweater under it, not a heavy.
According to the filson size guide, 3XL is most appropriate for his measurements. However other various places say the short cruiser runs large.
What say you?
