After 5 years at Walmart, this completely killed my motivation
I’ve been working overnight at Walmart for almost 5 years. Recently, I interviewed for an Academy Trainer position on nights. After the interview, I was congratulated, told I got the position, and was informed that I would receive the job offer on Monday. I was even asked not to tell anyone yet.
Then Monday came — nothing. Tuesday — still nothing. On Wednesday, I came to work and found out they had given the position to someone who had only been there for about 2 months.
What honestly upset me the most wasn’t even losing the position. It was the way management handled it. If they changed their decision, fine — but at least communicate properly instead of telling someone they got the job and then completely reversing it without explanation.
I’ve worked hard for this company for years, and situations like this really kill motivation and trust in management.
