There is ZERO valid defense or excuse.

Coach out of dress code

Never seen such a blatant example of "rules for thee, not for me." This coach (she's never been my coach) feedback'd me about a month ago for wearing shorts that were too short. (And letter of the rule, she was right. No hard feelings about that, in isolation)

Just now I'm heading back for lunch and I see her setting a mod in electronics while wearing a spaghetti strap top.

It's so tempting to call her on it but what good would come of that?

2 week notice?

Is it bad to quit without a two weeks notice? I got a very sudden job offer that I’d like to start June 1 which is less than 2 weeks away. I know we don’t need a 2 week notice but I just feel like it’s the right thing to do. Could I experience any backlash from putting only a weeks notice in?

It's AES time!

Remember, AES is about your store all year long, not just that request off that was denied last week.

And remember it's about all year long, not about the treats they put in the break room last night.

Opinions on coaching an employee the day after their 3yr old sisters funeral

Yes, you read the title correctly. I have an associate who has been sleeping through their lunch and sometimes taking 2hrs or more without informing us ahead of time which then causes us to scramble . They are also being outworked by other associates 3x their age on a consistent basis since I started as TL. They have already been coached before after multiple written and verbal DA's, but they're due for another one.

My issue is that their 3yr old half sister passed recently and my coach told me to coach them the next day they're back, which just so happens to be the day after the funeral. I told my coach that I refuse to do it the day after because it just seems like a completely reprehensible thing to do. I know it's part of the business, but it just doesn't sit right with me. They have never met the sister as she lived in another state, but they told me they are currently grieving the potential relationship he could've had with her which is still completely valid to me.

I asked another TL about it and they said it would be inhuman to do it the day after. I'm pretty sure I know what most of the responses on here will be because I like to think that most people have a similar mindset to mine, but I'm still looking for more opinions.

Edited to add more details to the post.

Update: I spoke with my coach and I think I have convinced them to give me some time to help my associate work through things. We will be sitting the associate down and having a heart to heart whenever they work again. Thank you for everyone who actually offered help instead of just telling me I'm a worthless TL when I'm honestly trying to do right by my associate.

Asset Protection

I currently work at a Walmart store as a cashier and they are looking to hire asset protection. Do they drug test for internal hires if I were to accept the position?

Usual annoying customer

So there’s this annoying customer that comes into our Walmart always complaining about things that need to be changed and how corporate has heard of her plenty times. She’s just ranting to another associate about how the cheaper stuff need to be on top and the more expensive stuff need to be at the bottom because they are trying to get people to buy the most expensive stuff. Then she goes into cosmetics and starts complaining about certain things need to be locked up and we need test strips for perfume. Looks like someone had sprayed a bit of a perfume and she’s like can I get a 50 percent discount on this? Long story short this lady makes a big deal asks to talk to a coach and threatens to call corporate because they won’t agree to giving her said price. Dumb ass coach folds and says yes just so she can go home. At the end of the day she’s still going to call corporate. Literally comes in all the time demanding gift cards or she’ll complain to the hire ups and even goes as far as trying to get associates in trouble if they give her the slightest attitude. I have no idea why tf they let her get away with this shit. Honestly I’ll let the bitch just keep calling. 🤷🏻‍♀️ these customers really be from hell and think it’s cool.

Update on rumors concerning changes to Wireless.

Said rumours mentioned in the prior post have been discussed vigorously with my store's management and market management. Paired with this most recent mod change(shown above) including instore prepaid activation promos good for the next several months and no change to the Wireless Toolkit on the Wire our only conclusion assuming good faith from the people telling these rumours at other local stores is a misunderstanding of pilot programs at Test Stores. This is a frustrating reality that ideas Walmart would like to work may show up at some stores then the news gets spreads around but they dont get rolled out at all stores till years later or the idea gets scrapped.

Im curious. How many stores are AP very aggressive about having everything that is locked up that belongs on a Spark order walked to the Service Desk by an associate? A coworker got reprimanded pretty harshly because he let a cheap ONN 32GB thumb drive walkaway with a Spark Driver because its locked
