New apartment, need help with small and narrow study+guest room!
Hi from Norway!
We just bought a new apartment in Oslo and have a second bedroom here, really small in size, that we are hoping can be used as our main study area and as a guest bedroom when we have family or friends over.
Here are the main challenges and constraints we are facing:
- We have to be able to fit a work desk PC setup (doesnt have to be big, but not tiny either)
- We have to be able to fit an ergonomic chair with that desk
- My fiancee plays the piano, so we have to fit a 130cm wide by 30cm deep electric piano too.
- We have to fit either a sofa bed, day bed, or normal single bed in the room, so guests have a place to sleep. The bed can just be a single bed.
- The ergonomic chair needs enough room to swivel and move a little bit around while working, so it does not feel too tight. When we have tried to fit both a bed, desk and chair in the room, with the desk on one long wall and the bed against the other, we have found there to be very little room left and a little difficult to get in and out of the chair.
- Some storage options around the room would be nice
- We have an amazing window and nice view of the town square and do not want to block it with a piano or a computer screen
Apart from that, we have a decent budget and do not mind spending on good solutions, but obviously we do not want to overspend either.
**The last picture was how the realtor designed the room (as a second bedroom) when we went for the viewing before purchasing the apartment. It obviously doesnt work for us because that desk is way too small for our PC workstation.
Would appreciate any tips, ideas, or suggestions!
