Porter Lying About Delay Causes

So, I'm sitting in an airport in SW Ontario. My flights was delayed last night, and they had to rebook me on my flight to Ottawa (then Halifax) "due to circumstances beyond our control".

Problem is, they're lying to their gate agents.

Today, the agents were told it was "bad weather in Halifax that resulted in a crew being unavailable".... But I'm FROM Halifax. I have friends in the ground at Stanfield.

No bad weather. At all.

Unless 33 degrees is bad weather.

Its bad enough that, last night, their system automatically rebooked me for an overnight stay in Ottawa, where had I not been paying attention I would have been stranded in Ottawa overnight on Canada Day weekend, with Porter refusing to pay for a hotel (which is apparently their new standing policy?). But today they're lying about the reason for delay in order to avoid compensation.

This is all very "Air Canada" and very NOT Porter.

I'll be having words to that effect with Porter.

Bad Porter. No be Air Canada. Air Canada bad.

BTW: The gate agents and flight staff are still the warm, helpful and amazing staff they always are, but something upstairs has gone very wrong.
