How do I approach my somewhat conservative teachers with market socialism

I'm fairly new to socialism. I would be posting this on socialism 101 but were clearly not welcome. For some context I started calling myself socialist about a year ago then thought I was a libertarian because I believe in free market. I then learned about market socialism and fell in love. I still hold true to conservative veiws on marriage. Just so were clear I have gay friends but disagree with there lifestyle. Also I am going to a Pentecostal Christian college for my bachelor's in theology. Im just curious how to approach my teachers if need be. Because I know the word socialism can leave a bad taste in conservatives mouths. Also the teacher i would probably tell first is from Canada, I don't know if that would help or not.

I have a question about gmos and top soil

For some context im from iowa but lived in Minnesota for awhile. I heard from someone that I used to work with (she's from iowa aswell) that seed company's are trying to make non gmo's for like corn and soybeans illegal. She also told me we are losing a layer of top soil every year. Just curious if we were to do what the isrealites did back in the acient times now if it would help slow the loss of top soil.
