We need to talk about the state of the game.
For a while now, I have found the game to be not enjoyable at all unless you play DD's, Hybrids or Dutch cruisers.
I am a BB/CA enjoyer, finding happiness in playing Germans alt line and Russians BB's while also, from time to time, putting the Americans and Russians CA to use. But the game feels unplayable due to the spam of planes in its current state.
The Japanese Hybrids arrival did not help with this, yes most of their torps will miss but they are just going to bow tank for the whole game with no real counterplay due to the general strategic mind of the playerbase. Not saying I am a genius, but some people forget flanking is the way to go most of the time.
Let me be explain with more details:
Dutch Cruisers: They have armor, firepower, planes, and stealth (looking at you Haarlem and Johan). By themselves they can hold a whole flank due to their DPM potential, with the ability to remove 1/5 of a BB health when they cannot dodge. Even when the BB tries, most bombs will hit and deal annoying fires with big damage numbers. So in short, the cruisers ability to stay at cover while doing damage close to a CL is bad game balancing (the game was never balanced but atleast it was somewhat enjoyable when I first started before carriers were a thing.
Hybrids: Bow tank all game with the ability to delete your HP bar for the higher tiers. The lower ones are fine to me. Annoying sure, but not a game changer. I've yet to see one turn the tide of the battle. What is an issue however is that they bring even more planes to games where they are two dutch cruisers and a CV.
CV's: there's enough rant about them already. I will, however, say the Ark Royal needs another nerf for how unfair it is. A good CV player will annihilate the enemy team with this ship. Good thing I don't like tier V.
So in short, the game is turning into WoP for me, with a very passive gameplay rewarding those who try nothing to win the game. Yes I could be more passive to force them to me but it is just boring and unfun. What are your thoughts tho ? Again, I am no good player and this is just my experience as a BB/CA main.
