Currently developing a school list.

I love research and am committed to pursuing an MD/PhD. But, I also know that prestige is important when considering programs because it affects funding and connections which feed into what you get out of your PhD. But of course, top programs are difficult to get into (especially with my stats).

Would be happy to start MD only and apply to transfer internally into MD/PhD but this is also a concern because my profile is very research-heavy!

• Has anyone else had similar dilemmas? Is the solution to be ok with applying broadly?
• If I decide to apply to both MD and MD/PhD programs, how should I choose which one to apply to for a given school on AMCAS (I believe you can only choose one or the other)?

Any suggestions/advice/thoughts are appreciated.

Does anyone know if we have to sit within colleges (is this strictly enforced)? Is there a check-in process? Thanks in advance.
