Vijay pays tribute to LTTE chief Prabhakaran, vows solidarity with Lankan Tamils

Rahul Gandhi gave Vijay the crucial 5 seats to clear the floor test and sit on the CM chair. Vijay repaid that maturity by dancing with the LTTE.

I am devastated just like any other Rahul Gandhi supporter. The TVK alliance feels like a backstab and a compromise of our core values.

When the 2026 results came out and left a hung assembly, people said we needed to keep "communal forces" out, break away from the DMK, and get a share in the governance to rebuild the Congress legacy of Kamaraj. Fine.

But, how can we forget history?

Velupillai Prabhakaran and the LTTE masterminded the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi. The trauma of that event runs deep into the veins of every Indian.

For Rahul Gandhi, it’s deeply personal; it’s about his own father.

Rahul Gandhi showed immense maturity, statesmanship, and the willingness to look forward for the sake of a secular coalition.

He literally went to Chennai, shook hands with Vijay, and gave him the crucial 5 seats needed to push the TVK coalition over the majority mark in the floor test.

Without Congress, Vijay wouldn't be sitting comfortably as Chief Minister right now.

And how does Vijay repay that maturity? By going to a massive public rally in Nagapattinam, plastering posters of Prabhakaran everywhere, and openly glorifying him.

This is an absolute backstab. It feels like Vijay used Rahul’s national stature and the Congress party's MLAs just to clear the floor test and legitimize his government, only to immediately pivot right back to radical Tamil nationalism to cater to his voter base.

I want to see the Congress grow and win, but not at the cost of humiliating our leader and dancing with the ghost of the organization that took his father away.

Vijay is proving that he cares only about his own political survival, and I deeply fear that Congress's leadership has walked right into a trap where they are going to be used and discarded.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Who in the high command actually thought this alliance was a good idea? Congress broke a 22-year bond with the DMK just to get publicly humiliated by a rookie politician.

Why a Strengthening Dollar Justified the PM's Advisory to Halt Bullion Buying

Buying gold right now means paying a massive premium at the top of a global macro bubble.

https://preview.redd.it/9jnp8f41jv1h1.png?width=1591&format=png&auto=webp&s=4c07f6a03a655f009deb96c4e3e6f23451b5f4b1

Here's why...

Gold is priced in US dollars. When the DXY strengthens, it exerts immense downward pressure on global spot gold.

The biggest headwind for Gold right now is the US Dollar Index (DXY).

When we look closely at the monthly chart for the U.S. Dollar Index (DXY), the technical indicators and structural patterns suggest that the Dollar Index is bottoming out and strengthening from here.

https://preview.redd.it/gncifzoyjv1h1.png?width=1591&format=png&auto=webp&s=ab044c15bdd1314f1e99567844eff15e9d92d897

Historically, every single time the DXY pulls back to this lower support line, it finds aggressive institutional buying volume and initiates a powerful, multi-year upward rally.

Let’s look at why the Dollar is not going to weaken anytime soon—at least not this year.

The forces that strengthen dollar fall into two categories:

External Factors - The Geopolitical Safe-Haven: Ongoing geopolitical instability in the Middle East. We all know this. Whenever global tensions flare, institutional capital flees from volatile emerging markets and high-risk assets. (Look at Bitcoin, Ethereum or Binance coin) This massive capital migration searches for the safest liquid instrument in the world: U.S. Treasury bills. This safe-haven behavior keeps a permanent floor under the DXY.

Internal Factors - The U.S. Labor Market: Rock-solid domestic economic data is preventing the Federal Reserve from cutting interest rates.

Job Data (Non-Farm Payrolls) The latest NP data printed a resilient 115k new job

To truly understand why the U.S. Dollar is positioned to climb further from here, we have to look at the fundamentals of the global economy: The U.S. Labor Market.

When you connect all these pieces- drop in gold, DXY at 20-year structural support, and resilient U.S. labor market- the macro analysis becomes clear.

Hence, Prime Minister Modi’s recent appeal to avoid gold purchases is macroeconomically flawless.

He is warning citizens to pause buying gold at the absolute peak of a global commodity cycle.

This advisory achieves two goals:

1 - shields retail investors from buying at high price and suffering severe capital erosion.
It took 9 full years for gold to reclaim and finally break past its previous major peak.

2- It halts the drain of US Dollar reserves on a non-yielding asset at the exact moment a strong Dollar and expensive crude oil are squeezing emerging markets.

There is a lot of "behind the scenes" drama happening at the KDMC.

The biggest shocker is Deputy Commissioner Ramdas Kokare getting transferred.

On May 2, 2026, the Maharashtra government quietly transferred Ramdas Kokare

I read this guy was actually on the streets at 4:30 AM personally monitoring the work at the ground level and holding contractors accountable. He would show up at the Kalyan and Dombivli vegetable markets early mornings to catch wholesalers using banned plastic bags.

Does anyone know any details like whats going on?

As a student of Public Administration, I am fascinated by how the courts are currently navigating high-profile procedural tactics that test the very limits of our legal framework.

In two distinct cases involving Pawan Khera and Arvind Kejriwal, the Solicitor General has recently flagged what they term 'Forum Choosing' and 'Bench Hunting' a calculated attempt to manipulate the administrative machinery of the courts.

This raises a fundamental administrative question: How does a public institution maintain its neutrality and structural integrity when high-profile litigants attempt to curate their own judges and jurisdictions?

Khera and Forum Choosing -

On April 7, Pawan Khera approaches the Telangana High Court for relief.

On April 10, The Telangana High Court grants Khera one-week transit anticipatory bail.

On April 15, The Supreme Court stays the Telangana order, with the Solicitor General arguing that a person cannot "shop" for a court in a different state just for convenience.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who was representing the Assam government argued that simply owning property somewhere shouldn't allow a person to pick any court they like. He stated:

"If this is permitted, a person could acquire properties across the country and seek anticipatory bail from any forum of their choosing. This is forum-shopping, if not forum-choosing."

-----

Kejriwal and Bench Hunting -

February 27, Delhi trial court discharges Kejriwal due to lack of evidence.

March 9, Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma of Delhi High Court observes the discharge was an error.

April 13, Kejriwal files recusal appeal.

April 20, Justice Sharma refuses to recuse herself.

In her ruling, she used a very specific administrative phrase to describe the practice: "seeking a bench of his choice."

She explicitly stated that a litigant "cannot be permitted to browbeat the court by seeking a bench of his choice."

Pawan Khera was guilty of "Forum Shopping" (picking the city)

Kejriwal was guilty of "Bench Hunting" (picking the judge).

Whether it is Khera being directed back to the ‘correct’ city or Kejriwal being told he cannot choose his own judge, the message is clear: the legal system is not a marketplace.
