Having SUPER popular f/os is draining
First of all I'm well aware we must NOT let things like that get to ourselves. It's not even about doubles themselves, it's mostly about... everything? Not just doubles but that having F/Os that are super well known exposes you to lots of unwanted content about them. And doubles are not the worst because, even if I'm non sharing, they're still willing to love the characters their own way.*
But I get exposed to SO MUCH hate, criticism, mischaracterization, this annoying white noise that you try to block away by -literally- blocking and muting account after account but it's even in your youtube shorts (?) like you'll watch a music video featuring the character and booom the next youtube short is about said character but it's basically spreading hate. I'm super tired.
And then there's when people don't take you seriously because they think you're just after the 'tumblr sexymen' and your feelings are less valid because they think you're doing it just to get a 'quick pass' into the community. Bah
*This has an exception, I HATE when doubles try to literally bend and twist the character to their liking AND pretend that's *the canon* everyone should accept. I hate being exposed to that. ONE THING are speculations and such, or admitting that you have YOUR OWN HEADCANON which differs completely from the canon. But Don't pretend that by giving two different names to the earlier and later version of the same person they're two different people or 'the earlier would have never become the later' because like it's on screen, they would. This is just a silly example.
