For the life of me, when I started getting into Star Trek two yeras ago, I did not understand the outright dislike Welsey got. Sure, hes annoying, but that is sorta his character.

fast forward to now, where I have finished DS9, Voyager, TOS, and TNG. I am rewatching TNG and in season 4 and cannot wait for Wesley to leave. he's not even the annoying character who takes over the bridge for no reason but can solve any problem any more. he's a real character with pros and cons and seems well acted. the plots are reasonable imo, nothing beyond what any other character gets.

What is it about Wesley that takes me so out of the universe and annoys me? is this universal?
