You may think of Paul as being the sweet, innocent Beatle, but then why would he feature Separatist leader Count Dooku on the cover of his most popular post-Beatles album? Seriously, when have you ever heard Paul denounce the crimes of the Trade Federation or the Intergalactic Banking Clan? Hell, his name was even mentioned in the Sifo-Dyas files. Simply put, Paul does not care about democracy or the Republic at all.
