Am I wasting my money?
I have a 20 year old Honda Element with about 150k miles currently. I don't drive it much, maybe 3k miles a year, but I love it as much as a man can love a car. I've gotten in the habit of taking it in to the dealership every 6 months to get the oil change and have them do their multipoint inspection. The dealership seems pretty honest - usually they tell me everything is fine (I do minor repairs and things like changing the air cabin filter myself). I just figure with a car this old, its best to catch things wearing out early.
Am I just throwing my money away? Or is this a legitimate tactic for making it last as long as possible?
