Southern Nic or Northern CR

Would you rather spend 5 days in September On Guided boats twice a day in Southern Nic? Or land based in Costa Rica (Tamarindo/Nosara)

Intermediate surfer looking to surf as much a possible on a 6 day trip. Heard stories of Nic being super heavy in Sep and I don’t want to get totally wrecked. Main goal is to surf fun waves 5 hours a day.

Need advice on a second board! 5 Days in Nicaragua (September)

I haven't taken the jump to a true shortboard, and maybe now its time. Nicaragua Trip in September and I want to be prepared for overhead each day. I have a thick and stable 6'6 but I think for this trip I'll need to take the plunge down into the sub 6' range.

What kind of board for a first shortboard? Would you get a board now and ride it for 3 months or just buy one/rent one down in Nicaragua?

5'6 - 175 lbs - fit, but will be paddle training pretty hard in order to prep.

Experience Level: 5 years, good takeoffs, small turns, pocket riding, fit. Intermediate. I've surfed overhead many times before, but Nicaragua in September seems like another level.

I'm determined to go and get as many clean wave reps as I can during the 5 day trip. Very excited! Will be surfing with these guys. https://nicasurf.com/
